Hi Mike,
Thank you for your email. I am a customer of yours from Melbourne Australia who bought the QT5 from your New Zealand agent about 9months ago. The engine is still under my bed but the old diesel engine is now out of my Herreshoff solitaire sloop called “Four Winds” and I have installed four 100amph AGM batteries and all the hardware you sent me, fuse, solenoid, engine control etc., and I have built the control box into my cockpit.
I have fitted the engine mounts and am ready to pull the boat out of the water next week and fit the engine and a new shaft and prop. It’s taken me a while because of budget concerns. I’m glad I bought the engine when I did because I see the price has increased and the Aussie dollar has weakened.
I can’t go down to the yacht club without someone asking me how that electric engine you got from the States is going. Many people are interested and I will be your best salesman once I get everything done and the boat sailing.
Our season begins in October and I will motor past the Commodores boat silently and blow a few minds lol. I have plenty of pics and some video and will send everything to you once I get the instillation finished.
Cheers Freddo Dirk.
